Sanctity Of Life

We as a nation and world have closed the door on the sanctity of life in the favor of the sanctity of lifestyle.   No living human being has the right to intrude on our self-serving right to live an unencumbered life.

I have seen too much of the ease with which we dispose of babies unborn and now are seeking to extend that service to living and viable children.  The so-called and incredibly evil "post-birth abortion."  (Really, this has been going on in hospitals for years.  See the Indiana case of baby X.)

I have seen too much of the elderly and the chronically ill being helped to pass on.  Reading "Stealth Euthenasia: Health Care Tyranny in America" has been both eye opening and disturbing.

I have heard too much about so-called "death with dignity" and patients rights to end of life.

What do all these things have in common: convenience, convenience, convenience.

It is very inconvenient to care for the weakest among us.  It costs us time, money and often, rest, but it is the hallmark of a truly compassionate people.  It is the height, breadth and depth of our humanity.

Just Say NO to Hypocrisy

Listen  up sectarians and atheists and whoever.  You can't have it both ways.  You can't have the holiday without the religion.  NO EASTER THEN NO BUNNY!

That's right I am putting my foot down.  Certainly, Easter is much more than the bunny, just like Christmas is much more than Santa and Thanksgiving is much more than the turkey, but to try to retain all the frills and furbelows of a holiday, so that you and your children can have all the fun without any of the meaning, is hypocrisy and I for one am saying "not anymore."

To be honest, if you had all kept your mouths shut, I wouldn't have said anything about it.  But you just had to demand that anything you determined was religious had to be removed from all holidays.  Holiday, you should notice has HOLY in the word. 

So for you, from now on: No Easter than no bunny, no egg hunts and no candy.  In fact, I think that people who are attempting to buy Easter candy should be carded to make sure that they are card carrying Christians who love Easter, otherwise they can just hit the regular candy aisle.  Leave the Cadbury Eggs and the Chocolate Rabbits to those who hold the Holiness and celebration of Easter dear.

Regaining Separation of Powers is Really Quite Simple

To the State governments are reserved all legislation and administration in affairs which concern their own citizens only, and to the federal government is given whatever concerns foreigners or the citizens of other States; these functions alone being made federal. This is probably going to turn into a very long blog, but I hope it gets read anyway.  

First a course correction.  Many of us learned and are still taught that separation if powers is what keeps the different branches of the government in check.  I was taught this all they way through college.  This is an error. Separation of powers is primarily concerning the division of power between the individual states and the federal government.   

This separation of powers or division of sovereignty between the federal and state governance is vital to the proper function of this Republic. Consider the following law dictionary definition of state sovereignty:

State sovereignty is defined as the "supreme, absolute, and uncontrollable power by which an independent state is governed and from which all specific political powers are derived; the intentional independence of a state, combined with the right and power of regulating its internal affairs without foreign interference."

Such separate but equal sovereignty has been eroded over the last century as the Federal machinery has voraciously nibbled away at it.  As we, have allowed the Federal machinery nibble away at it.  Yep, this erosion is on each and every one of us.   AND we have the power to stop it in its tracks.

The Power of the Federal Government begins and ends with federal funding.   It is time that we the people just say no to the funds.   Likewise we need to elect officials that also say no to the funds.  We need to dismiss non-elected officials who take federal funding.  

We have allowed ourselves the luxury of accepting what appears to be help from the Feds, when in reality, the value of the money rarely outweighs the cost of administering the funds and never benefits state sovereignty.  

It's time to say an emphatic NO to all federal dollars and YES to true separation of powers.  For in this inspired concept does our true freedom reside.  It really is that simple.

Liberty Lost

In November I voted for liberty. Liberty-- "freedom from arbitrary or despotic control." Despite what modern commentators would tell you, our forefathers did not fight for freedom they fought for liberty. Liberty is the foundation for true freedom.



In November liberty lost. Liberty was voted down by those who want supposed freedom. Not freedom from arbitrary or despotic control, but freedom from consequence.


They have chosen a course of action and now they fear the consequences that will follow. So this government promises them that they will "free" them from the bad consequences of their bad actions.


You chose not to get an education; no problem: unemployment checks. You chose improper money management; no problem: welfare. You chose not to work; no problem: food stamps. You chose promiscuity; no problem: no-cost abortion on-demand.


This is the illusion of freedom. Government may be able to delay the bad consequences, but they cannot save us from the consequences of our actions. In a short time we realize that instead of being free from our consequences, we have traded them for a different and unyielding master. We sold our vote, our soul and our liberty, for a place at the government trough.


In November I voted for liberty; 51% did not.

Remembering What Freedom Feels Like

One of our biggest challenges over the next four years is remembering what freedom feels like.  Already, the Obama administration, under its imagined "mandate," has announced numerous and restrictive regulations.  Regulations which by their formulation, are the very essence of taxation without representation.

We need to learn what freedom looks like.  No one living today, unless they remember the pre-FDR days, really knows what freedom looks like.   While several U.S. Presidents increased the powers of the office, it was FDR who really created the nanny state, by packing the U.S. Supreme Court in order to pass his previously unconstitutional nanny-state programs and then shoved them down the throat of the American people.   FDR's propagandist public school collaborators taught and continue to teach that these programs resolved the Great Depression, when in fact these programs only created a depression within a depression.  It was WWII and the war effort that resolved the Great Depression.

We need to teach what freedom feels like and looks like to those within our sphere of influence.  Antipathy and complacency are the duel death knells of freedom.   The death of freedom is often compared to the frog in the pot,  but even a frog can be taught that cold water is a danger.   Principles of true freedom must be pressed into the minds of old and young and the very, very confused who recently voted for immorality, indolence, and servitude.

Third Party Voters, You Trashed Your Vote And Trashed the Country

Message to third party voters.   You didn't take a stand you made a whimper.   You may have cost Romney the election as well and if you consider that noble, well the you did not consider your children.  There is no such thing as the perfect candidate,  and I would agree that Romney was not the perfect candidate, but he was better than what was in the White House.  Romney may not have a quick fix, but he would have made considerable strides toward righting major wrongs.

The willfully ignorant voted Obama and the prideful self-righteous threw their votes away on third party candidate.

Do not mistake me, I am not against a third party, but wasting your vote is a quick fix for your conscience.   The real work starts now.  Now is the time to work for a third party that represents, we who want social and fiscal conservatism. We who want education for our children, not indoctrination.   We who prefer freedom to serfdom.  We who love and honor this country and its constitution. So roll up your sleeves and get to work now.

And guess what, even then not everyone will agree.  It won't be the perfect party and never have the perfect candidate, but then the guy you threw your vote away on wasn't' perfect either.  To get anything done politically we must compromise on our ideals.  No one is asking you to compromise on your principals.

Pedicaris Alive or Raisuli Dead!

These were the words uttered by Teddy Roosevelt when American, Ion Pedicaris, was kidnapped by the Muslim brigand Raisuli, from his Tangier's home in 1904.  Teddy had no equivocation and Raisuli believed him.  Pedicaris was returned alive.  Teddy knew that it was his responsibility to protect American citizens and he took that responsibility seriously.

Regardless of the election on Tuesday, the American people need to know why the current president is not willing to protect our citizens even, for Pete's sake, an ambassador.  I mean, if an ambassador, an Obama appointee, is left to die, then how could a mere citizen expect protection.  Aren't we all just potential collateral damage for Obama's agenda? 

Consider instead a president who would have said, "Stevens alive or Muslim terrorists dead!"...well then the choice become simple and we know what we should be doing next.

Always A Bride Never A Wife

Obama reminds me of the brides who put all their efforts into the wedding and do nothing to prepare for the marriage.   He prepared for the party, he prepared for the attention,  but he did little, and certainly not enough, to prepare to be the president of the greatest nation in the free world.

With every day it becomes more apparent, that Obama is simply a figurehead for the far left who have treated this country as some radical social experiment.  A bad experiment at that, since recent history has proven that their social experiment has already failed, miserably, and resulted in the deaths of millions.  You can almost hear the cacophony of leftist voices saying,"Now you run along and play golf and we will take care of the details."

Not only do I agree with Clint Eastwood in his assessment that Obama is the biggest fraud to ever be perpetrated on the American people, I will go a step further.   I think that he was a necessary fraud.  I believe that the radical liberal left needed a presentable black candidate to front their cause, so that they could prey on the collective guilt that resides in this nation over the issue of slavery.  So many, possibly otherwise rational people, were just too willing to sell their vote for a clearer conscience. Hopefully, that guilt has been assuaged so that we can vote a truly prepared man into the White House.

Fact Checkers Should Check The Actual Facts

An interesting new phenomenon has begun in this current election: FACT CHECKING.  Typical of the tools the mainstream media provides us with, fact checking appears to be most helpful, but really it is just another layer of a reeking onion ruse that prevents us from critically thinking for ourselves.

This fact became abundantly clear to me as I read the next day coverage of Paul Ryan's convention speech in our local paper.  As I read the speech excerpts, I noted the oh-so handy "fact check" box along side the article.  "How helpful," was my first response, but as I perused the contents I found myself repeatedly saying, "He didn't say that...he didn't say that..."

It was readily apparent that the so-called fact checkers not only checked the facts, but in an effort to streamline the process, they also invented the facts.  Not one single item that they attributed to Paul Ryan was actually said.  Bottom line is that while it might be nice for others to think for us, a "government by the people" requires us to think and learn for ourselves.   Look to the primary source for you informaion otherwise you will soon find yourself to be a liberal democrat.

Resolutions New Year and Otherwise

I am not a big believer in New Year's resolutions. I prefer to take stock of my life many times throughout the year and make necessary adjustments, but in the spirit of the New Year, I will share some of my current resolutions.

1. I will not let the media tell me for whom to vote. I am sick of the media stating a fact and then telling me what it means to me. For instance, "Rick Santorum is leading in the polls, this shows how undecided the Iowa voters are." Really! How! All it shows me is that Rick Santorum is leading in the polls. Similar "Fact-Fallacious Conclusion" techniques have been employed to undermine many a good campaign. I am going to sort through the facts and decide for myself what they mean to me.

I am already aware that I am going to vote for a sinner, because there was only one perfect human ever on the earth and he ain't running for office.

2. I will not let the government define who I am. Are you kidding me!?! Under the new government definitions, nearly half the population is poverty stricken. Really? Just think of the degradation inherent in that label. Not just poor, but stricken with it, as if the poor can't defend themselves from the pounding blows of capitalism. Of course, such a situation requires the protection of the Socialist leaning Federal Government.

That is in fact the point of these labels: black, hispanic, poor, elderly, female, you name it. Socialism requires the label, encourages the victim-hood and them swoops down to save them, but really it is just another form of slavery...enslaving us in a dependancy on the government. Suborning our will to theirs.

I will not be labled a victim, but I will determine for myself who I am and how I will proceed with my life.

3. I will quit believing that Federal Government agencies can protect me. The USDA, FDA, EPA, TSA do not protect us. In fact, if you talk to the TSA about why they pass their most recent restrictions, their response is "To make the public feel safe." Feel safe! Is that what we are paying the big bucks for? To feel safe? I'm only interested in being safe and if they can't do that then stop taking my money for nothing. If such agencies have any merit, they belong on the state or county level where they have a chance of making a difference, but even without the inherent corruption, graft a favortism that exists in such agencies, they are not doing enough to justify their existance.

Think about it. The FDA does not save us from unsafe drugs as millions are recalled every year, usually by manufacturers who have a capitalistic interest in not making us sicker. The USDA does not protect us from tainted food. How many incidents of deadly food poisoning occured just in the last year? The TSA does not protect us from terrorism, good intel gathering does. (Yes, I am for intel agencies because they fall in the Constitutionally mandated "Provide for the common defense.)

I will not hope that others will take care me, but I will decide for myself how best to cook my food, take my medicines, and protect my person.

In short, my resolution is to Act, not to be Acted upon.

Reflections of 9/11 2011

I know that a few may misunderstand me, so don't. I am not against all the memorials, 9/11 or other. (Although the number of memorials seems to be growing exponentially). I am not against the services either, but as I watched the never ending stream of 9/11 programs on the 10th anniversary, my mind kept coming back to the words of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita "falling over ourselves to get all the misery right."


Mayor Bloomberg was the poster child for getting all the misery right. So intent was he to get it right, he excluded two of the most requisite groups from the stand: the clergy and the first responders. On 9/11 2001, it was the first responders who showed true Christ-like service as they willingly walked into the breach and risked their lives to save total strangers. While no one could have imagined that those great towers would completely collapse, the rescue workers knew that they were putting themselves at great risk just to enter a burning high rise.

Then, and second only to the first responders, were the clergy. It was the clergy who helped us find some modicum of comfort as people flocked to churches in record numbers.

But when you are trying to get "all the misery right" the clergy and the first responders represent comfort and hope so clearly do not fit the miserable agenda. After all, the bottom line for big bureaucratic politicians is to keep the electorate focused on the misery so that the big bureaucratic politician can be the salvation.

There are a lots of good reasons to have memorials and services. It is vitally important to remember the events, not just as politcal opportunities, but as events of sacrifice, of caring, of resolution, of hope, of comfort and yes, of mourning...mourning but not misery.

We need to remember also the lessons of that day: that we were vulnerable to attack, and the lessons of the days that followed: that we could stand together against a common enemey.

On 9/11 2001, nearly 3000 people perished in a heretofore unimaginable attack. On 9/11 2011, hope, comfort, and resolve may have followed them into the grave.

All We Like Sheep

I just got back from an Alaskan Cruise, no I am not just bragging, I learned something...rather I had something re-affirmed that I and most of us already know: THE TSA IS NEEDLESSLY INVASIVE AND SUBSTANTIALLY INEFFECTIVE.

I always love the TSA defenders who would now say, "Well we appreciate that the TSA makes us feel safer" and they are absolutely right. The TSA makes them feel safer, but they do not in fact make any of us safer. And really, isn't that what they are supposed to be doing, making us safe!?!

Okay, so what did I learn from my cruise that is pertinent to the TSA discussion, well cruise ship security has gotten it right. They are both effective and minimally invasive. Not once on my cruise did I get to absorb unhealthy rads from an insta-porn machine nor did I get a sexually degrading groping over.

How do the cruise lines achieve this magic combination of effective, minimally invasive security measures. Well they did their homework. When we check in (much like when we have to check in for a flight) we submit information that allows the cruise line to ascertain how much of a security risk we pose. This is good business for cruises. They want to keep us safe at the same time they respect our personal autonomy which is a basis right under the laws of this country.

Next, when we checked in, the cruise line snapped a picture of each passenger, linking it with their electronic key card so that each time security swipes your card, a current photo appears on the computer screen and they know if you match your photo. This happens each time you leave or return to the ship. Easy as that...swipey, swipey.

And finally they scan all bags and packages. They do not even require liquids in a clear quart bag, or to be removed from your bags. This process is secure, sensible and leaves the traveler with their personal dignity. Most importantly, it's completely adaptable by the TSA.

So why doesn't the TSA respect our rights and adopt both more effective and less humiliating security measures...well they don't have too. "All we like sheep" have allowed them to have their way with us. And it is time to stop.

It is time we held the TSA to an American standard. We need to expect them to do their homework, including profiling based on country of origin, terroristic associations and suspicious behavior.

It is time we insisted that frequent fliers, and any other flier who is willing to go through the process, be allowed prior clearances and with the cruise ship swipe card this is possible.

If the TSA does their homework and has photo verified swipe cards, airport security costs will be greatly reduced and security will be greatly enhanced. In this day of big budget government and possible terrorist activity, these measures offer us a win-win.

It is past time that we quit giving the TSA permission to take advantage of us simply because we need or want to fly.

The Theft of America's Heartland

I am not a big fan of the conspiracy theory because it has no functional value in society. Conspiracy theories never find their way out of the theory stage and therefore never can be acted upon. However, conspiracy theories should never be confused with actual conspiracies.

Conspiracies are a fact. A fact that allows them to be prosecuted in a criminal court of law. The legal definition of conspiracy is: "A criminal conspiracy exists when two or more people agree to commit almost any unlawful act, then take some action toward its completion. The action taken need not itself be a crime, but it must indicate that those involved in the conspiracy knew of the plan and intended to break the law." Find the Law .com

4. Every weather prognosticator in the U. S. warned that after the very wet 2010 summer and record snow fall of 2011, that their would be an extreme excess of water in the upper Missouri River basin. Plus, history has long established that the rains fall heavy in the spring. Why was the Army Corp of Engineers caught off guard? And why did they suddenly cancel their annual fish spawning mini-flood? Was it because they knew that they were going to create a maxi flood?

5. Letters for federal buy-outs have already gone out to many of the flooded land owners.


6. The Army Corp of Engineers (led by some smirky woman spokes person) has no problem being seen as incompetent as long as you don't see them as criminal.


7. Secretary of Agriculture Vilisak came charging in on his white horse to save the day and left with his tail between his legs telling the flooded out farmers that he could do nothing for them.


8. Finally, the ultra-liberal national press has shown no concern for loss of private property or livelihood, but seems overly concerned with the stability of the nuclear power plant (another liberal agenda item) and failed to report that the plant is in a maintenance outage and is a very small risk. (I live 5 miles as the crow flies, I am not concerned.)


In summation: The Missouri River Basin was flooded despite an elaborate system of flood protections and weather prognostication either by incompetence or design. Either way the federal government, so noted for making humankind dependant on its paternalism, is refusing to offer relief. The Federal Government along with its friends of the new world order are attempting to snatch up flooded river bottom for pennies on the dollar to expand federal land holdings and wildlife wetland refuges.

Bottom line, if proven, that flooding people's homes and livelihoods were done intentionally by action or failure to take action so that the federal government could maneuver a massive land grab, someone should be going to jail for criminal conspiracy. I would start with that smirky Army Corps of Engineers spokeswoman.

Loose Tongues are Worse than Wicked Hands--Jewish Proverb

Okay, I admit that I have been a bit of a slacker with my blog, but let me say this in my defense. First, my toe healed. When my toe was broken, I could not get around well so I had much more time to write.

Second, there is sooooo much to comment on with the Obama administration that I am having trouble prioritizing.

Today Obama's loose tongue made prioritizing easy. "Mr. President, leave Israel alone!" (This should be said in a sort of primal scream/outrage type of voice.)

When I first heard mention of Obama's demanding that Israel's borders be put back to the pre-1967 position, I could barely believe what I was hearing. My first thought was that maybe Obama was in some way impaired, sort of a verbal DUI situation. Then I thought it was possible that Obama was entirely ignorant of the history of Israel (which made me hope that this was a verbal DUI instead because that would be more forgivable.)

In case historical ignorance is the problem, let me address this next portion to Mr. Loose Tongue himself.

Mr. President. In 1967 Israel fought a war and through the grace of God, Israel won. It was not a war of their making. It was not a war that they provoked (except by their existence.) It was not a war that they would have chosen to fight, but they met the enemy, who out numbered them roughly 3 to 1, and prevailed. Due to this conflict, they secured land that allowed them to better protect their country in subsequent attacks. (E.G. Yom Kippur War of 1973)

Since that time, officious intermeddlers (yes that is an insult, but it is in legalize so less painful), mostly from the United States, have pressured Israel to give back these defensive lands. To what end. Now the Gaza Strip is snakes den of Arab terrorists, and the Sinai Peninsula could once again be used to mount a substantial attack on Israel as Muslim extremist gain a strong hold in Egypt. And you Mr. Loose lips, would use wicked hands to give back those strategic lands to the malignant enemies of Israel. Say goodbye to your "Osama Poll Bump," Mr. President.

Next up, Mr. Obama will announce that he is giving the American Southwest back to Mexico...that's one way to deal with the illegal immigration problem.

This Little Piggy Goes to School

The mind's first step to self-awareness must be through the body.--George Sheehan It used to be common sense that a healthy mind required a healthy body, but somewhere along the line educators have cast that much tested fact aside. I am not saying that childhood obesity lay only at the door of the public schools, no indeed, there is culpability enough to share, but my focus is on the culpability of the public schools. I am not impuning the schools for cutting fitness programs, because it is not the schools responsibilty to provide fitness opportunities to kids. No my complaint is that schools are completely filling up the time when kids should be outside playing or exercising. Look at the facts. Every public school system has consitently and regularly lengthened the school day and the school year. Most elementary schools have completely cut recess even for the youngest students. In addition to the time spent within the walls of the school, there has also been a steady increase in the amount of homework assigned per day. Most teachers believe that a student should get 10 minutes of homework per year in school. For instance if a child is in 6th grade they should get 60 minutes of homework. Okay, that might work well enough if a child is in a program with a single teacher, but is not such a reasonable formula in the higher grades with multiple teachers. Consider 10th grade. According to the formula, a 10th grader should have 100 minutes of homework each night. Now mulitply that by a minimum of 4 core-subject teachers = 400 minutes of homework each night. That's (well don't ask me I went to public school...just kidding. Fortunately, I learned math in college.) That's 6.67 hours of homework per night. Now include extra-curriculars, which are a necessity for any college-bound student, supper, and well you can forget family time. (See last blog) It's no wonder that the average high school student cannot get to bed before 12 AM, and it is certainly no wonder that we are seeing a steady climb in childhood obesity...by the way, obesity is considerably lower in home-schooled children where academic achievement is higher and where balance between mind and body is better maintained. If home-schoolers understand the balance, shouldn't we be able to expect professional educators to understand as well?

The Plumping of Failed Institutions

Why put more money into an already failing institution?--Paraphrasing Michael Medved First, by way of disclosure, I am a product of public schooling. However, when I went to public school, common sense reigned and no one need tell teachers how to deal with profanity, drugs or bullying. For the most part teachers, because they had the morality of such issues clear in their minds, knew how to deal with such problems utilising "common sense" unclouded by moral relativism. Common sense, however, is dead. That leaves us with the current state of the public school. A state of abject failure. So how do we address that failed upon failed institution, well we plump it up with more money, and even worse, more control over our children's lives. Even though, the school day has gotten steadily longer with each new legislative year, schools continue to decline. Even though each school year has been lengthened with each new legislative year, schools decline. Even though the amount of homework has increased exponentially, student achievement declines. Wake up and smell the coffee! This is a trend that must be reversed, but the answer does not lie with the public school, it lies with the parents and the pubic schools need to get out of the way. Note: The more time kids spend in school the less time they spend with their parents. Duh! While the schools, disingenuously, decry having to parent children, they have in fact grabbed more parenting by law since the 1940's as educators convinced themselves and lawmakers that educators knew better than the parents what was best for the children. The steady decline of this society is proof of how well that has worked. The best thing that we can do for both society and public school is to retrench. We need to stop pouring additional money and time in plumping up a failed institution. We need support strong families by allowing and expecting parents to be the primary educators in children's lives with the public schools serving a supporting role. After a lifetime of resistance, I am finally caving to the left. I have seen the light and I am ready to embrace the idea of redistributing the wealth. Don’t be shocked. It is only fair, in the full 5th grade playground meaning of the word fair, to take money from those who have earned it and give it to those whose greatest exertions in life get them from the bedroom to the couch. Not only do I embrace this concept, but I have the perfect plan for implementation.

Step 1: Get up off the couch.
Step 2: Provide a service or product that people are willing to pay you for.
Step 3: Follow through with that service or product and collect your fair and equitable pay.

There you have it; wealth redistribution in three easy steps. I think I will call my plan CAPITALISM!

As if the shooting of 19 people is not tragic enough, we now see it compounded by the tragedy known as the liberal left.

Typical liberal opportunistic behavior. Nothing more liberal than capitalizing on another's pain, whether it's a sudden tragedy or multi-generational poverty. The liberal left know that they owe their very existance to the down trodden and they are not above creating them.

Okay, this is the last blog of this series. This blog has been a long time coming. The reason why is well, I am very disappointed.

Too many (and even one is too many) readers met my last blog with the proverbial “not in my back yard sentiment.” You know that sentiment, when everyone thinks a group home for the mentally ill is a great idea, but not if it is too close to them. A group home is only a great idea if it is in your cross-town neighbor’s backyard.

Sadly, this is the same approach that too many have to government funding. Take away the other guy’s entitlement, boondoggle or earmark, but DON’T TOUCH MINE!

Well, then. Let me enlighten you. We have a lovely pedestrian bridge across the Missouri river. I have walked it and it is lovely. So thanks! Even though it is absolutely unnecessary and in a few years will be graffiti-ed, rusted, and forgotten. And while most of you will never, ever get any use out of it, your tens of millions of tax dollars went into building it (That is eight figures worth of money). Thank you so much! It must be okay with you, because if you want to preserve you earmark, you can’t say no to mine.

You can let the oxygen back into your brain; admit that the federal government has no business building foot bridges (or any other boondoggle, entitlement or earmark) for the few with the money of the many; and go to the polls and vote the bums out. Quit protecting your piece of the pie and do what is right and honorable--leave the money in the blistered hands of those that earned it.

Not Part IV

Okay, this is not the fourth part of the series. This is a follow-up to the last blog. The response I got to the last blog was mixed. Some said, "That's too hard." Others found it unrealistic. My response is "really?" (Actually my knee-jerk response was "waaaah.")

Yes it's hard. It's like losing weight, we didn't add all that weight at once and we will not lose it over night, but we better do something because it is killing us. Likewise, the bureaucracy (first time I spelled that right without spell check) that we have sold ourselves to, is also killing us as a nation.

Personally, I am ready for a crash diet from the Federal Government trough, but if you find it too hard or unrealistic at least consider this: every time you or your representatives take Federal dollars, at least ask yourself whose pocket it is coming out of, because it is coming out of someones pocket...maybe yours. Then ask yourself if the expenditure is justified beyond the value of getting an incumbent re-elected. You will probably find that it is not. Especially if you take a real hard look at it.

Finally consider this, just as we have seen in Municipal and State governments throughout the country, consider how we can manage on a forced fiscal diet if we don't have the self-discipline to curb our appetite for government dollars, because the forced fiscal diet is coming.

So quit whining about how hard it is, quit moaning about how unrealistic it is and start reprogramming your thought processes regarding the amount of money you are willing to let the Federal Government spend on you.

A PLACE TO START REPROGRAMMING YOUR VIEW ABOUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING:
1. When the Federal Government withholds taxes, they use our money interest free.
2. When we get a Tax Refund it is our money, (that the government used without compensating us) we are not getting anything from the government,they are just giving back what we did not owe in the first place.
3. If we are going to have a Federal Income Tax, then taxes should be paid on a flat rate, across the board, no deductions, at a rate lower than a tithe. (10% for all you Godless readers).
4. Tax deductions = Government control.
5. When we get on the government dole, we are dependant on a system that cannot be sustained.
6. When we look to the government for our financial salvation (being on the dole), we close our eyes to the source of our true salvation.
